Writing While Tender: On Letting Go

April 19th (12-130PST)

A Drop-In Virtual Writing Class

Do you need to process a complex experience on the theme of “letting go”, but haven't had the space or tools to begin exploring it?

Facilitated by Sofiya Ko, licensed counselor and expressive arts therapist, Writing While Tender is a trauma-aware container for gentle expressive writing.

ALL LEVELS WELCOME

Future class dates:

September 20th, & November 22nd.

When we have experienced harm, how do we learn to LET GO? What barriers do we encounter on the path of acceptance, and how does HOLDING ON serve us?

This class will softly challenge you to listen, learn to recognize inner knowing from external voices, and to notice creative blocks that hold you back from speaking freely about your truth.

Your Facilitator

Sofiya Ko

bi, cisgender woman,

Ukrainian-American Immigrant,

Artist of many forms.

As a child, I would scribble pictures of my family and pen fanciful stories for the joy of it. But surviving the traumatic process of immigration taught me that safety lay in a quiet pursuit of the  “American Dream”. So I traded in curiosity and imagination for the soul-crushing goal of assimilation and success at all costs: I graduated both high-school and college in 6 years and burned out by age 23.

Through therapy, I learned to feel safe standing out by recovering my own voice and making meaning from my past. It transformed my life so deeply, that I decided to become an Expressive Arts Therapist. Now I get to help others reclaim the stories of their lives too.

You are powerful.

Give yourself permission to access your creative life-force.
